Phil Younghusband to co-host in Monster Radio RX 93.1

The Philippine football team Azkals superstar Phil Younghusband is co-hosting Awesome Twosome in Moster Radio RX 93.1 with resident DJs Gino Quillamor and Monica Francesca Tobias.

According to tweets from the djs themselves and Phil, on Monday, January 3, 2011, Phil will be part of the radio show that runs from 4 PM to 7 PM. He will also answer questions from the listeners of the show.

James Younghusband, Coach Jojo and Mr. Miyagi will also be guesting on the show this Monday as RX's afternoon show's first offering in 2011.

For those who won't be able to listen on FM, the show is also streaming live via www.RX931.com. 

DJ Rico Robles versus David Archuleta's Fans

Monster Radio RX 93.1 DJ and Party Pilipinas jock Rico Robles got an instant yearend bang from the David Archuleta fan base in the Philippines.

DJ Rico Robles tweeted his opinion on Archuleta's 'Elevator' being played over and over as requested by his huge fan base in the country. 

On his tweets, Robles said: 'I can only hear "Elevator goes [up], elevator goes down" over and over in my head, when I eat, take a crap, sleep, wake up. Please lang.'

Robles also tweeted saying DA's fans bombarding him with 50,000 text messages voting for it.

Another tweet that trigger the local fan base of the American Idol alumnus say: 

'Is it even on the Billboard Top Ten? As a DJ, my social responsibility is to cater to all my listeners, not just fan clubs.'

And of course, the root of this mess was with Robles' statement: "playing a David Archuleta is a waste of time."

Rico Robles got several comments on his twitter account that are mostly negative ones coming from the young singer's supporters. 

The DJ managed to reply to all his followers saying he'll 'practice balance playing of music from your request to the charts. I will always cater to you.'

Here's the remaining lines on his Twitter account:

'I always been and try to be your voice so people can hear your emotions. I have never hid anything from anyone. My transparency as a DJ/artist has been the same since 1998. If you love, thank you. If you hate me, at least I always kept it true.'

Bruno Mars Live in Manila, Cebu 2011

Good news to all Bruno Mars fans out there! Well, the half-Pinoy half-Puerto Rican singer who serenade us with Just the Way You Are, Grenade and Nothin' on You will be having a concert here in the Philippines!

Yes, you read it right! Music Management International (NMI) just confirmed that Bruno Mars, whose real name is Peter Gene Hernandez, will be at Waterfront Hotel in Cebu on April 7, 2011 and then at SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on April 8, 2011.

Bruno Mars will indeed rock not just his Manila fans but also Cebuanos. Ticket prices are not yet available. I'll keep you posted on that.

2010 is such a great year specially to those who loves music. And because I'm such an avid music lover and a die-hard fan of Pinoy Pop FM Stations Monster Radio RX 93.1 and Magic 89.9, I'm creating this blog to feature the top songs Filipinos love to listen. 

Every week, I'll be posting the top songs as voted by listeners of the two leading pop FM stations in the Philippines. From time to time, I'll be posting some concert updates and news about our favorite singers and composers. 

I do hope I can maintain this blog as often as possible. So starting the first week of 2011, rest assured that every week, you'll be updated with the latest in the music scene.
